Everton fans have taken to Twitter to point the finger at three players, following the drab 0-0 draw against Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The Toffees were quite awful in Duncan Ferguson’s last game before Carlo Ancelotti takes the reins, having no shots on target while seemingly struggling to put two passes together on a lacklustre afternoon on Merseyside.
Despite the team’s problems as a unit, three players have come under the spotlight – Gylfi Sigurdsson, Cenk Tosun and Michael Keane.
The trio – who cost a combined £97m as Keane arrived for £25m, Sigurdsson for £45m and Tosun for £27m – all delivered poor performances against the Gunners on Saturday.

Keane only came off the bench in the 71st minute, having six touches in total, but the majority of them went back to Jordan Pickford as he showcased a negative approach to proceedings – one awful attempt at a pass to Lucas Digne went high into the stands as well.
In Tosun’s case, he too came off the bench, appearing in the tenth minute before delivering a woeful showing that saw him have no shots on target and just 21 touches – he was embarrassingly subbed off for Moise Kean in the 79th minute before heading straight down the tunnel.
Lastly, Sigurdsson was also ineffective. The Iceland international made no key passes and also had no shots on target on a quiet afternoon for himself personally.
As a result of the trio’s troubles, these Everton fans haven’t held back with their scathing verdicts on them.
One supporter named Sean said that, while it might be unlikely, Keane, Sigurdsson and Tosun probably shouldn’t ever feature in an Everton side again – very brutal words indeed.
This fan was also in the mood to insult the three players, saying that he’s not sure he’ll make it to 2021 if the trio are still wearing an Everton shirt come the start of the 2020/21 shirt in August.
These two fans continued to aim hatred towards the players. One said that they should be sold “ASAP” as they are “not good enough”, whereas another supporter branded them as “atrocious players” who are slow and lethargic – everything they hate in a player.
This fan named Callum said that the three of them are “simply not good enough for this club” – short, sweet and simple and a verdict that was not as harsh as some of the ones we have seen above, but still hard-hitting enough.
Lastly, Louis think that all three of them have to be sold in the January transfer window – if Ancelotti did that in his first window in charge, it would be a seriously bold move.
