Guardiola was asked about the scratches on his forehead in his post-match interview following his side's 3-3 draw with Feyenoord. He joked that he wants to "hurt" himself as he revealed that a sharp fingernail caused the cuts.

While some were worried about Guardiola's wellbeing, his joke also sparked an angry response with some accusing the City boss of making light of mental health issues, but the Spaniard has taken to social media to clear up the situation.
WHAT GUARDIOLA SAID
"I was caught off guard with a question at the end of a press conference last night about a scratch which had appeared on my face and explained that a sharp fingernail had accidentally caused this," he explained. "My answer was in no way intended to make light of the very serious issue of self harm. I know that many people struggle with mental health issues every day, and I would like to take this moment to highlight one of the ways in people can seek help, by calling the Samaritans hotline on 116 123 or emailing [email protected]."

Guardiola's team have not won any of their last six matches in all competitions, losing five in a row before they surrendered a three-goal lead to draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League in midweek. Sitting eight points behind Liverpool in the Premier League, the reigning English champions cannot afford another loss when they meet the Reds at Anfield on Sunday.
