Ted Lasso will return for Season 4 with a “whole host of new characters”, but Nick Mohammed is unable to confirm whether Nate Shelley will be back.

After several months of intense speculation, title character and writer Jason Sudeikis recently confirmed that the show will be streaming again on Apple TV+ in the not too distant future. He also announced that Lasso will return to screens as coach of a women’s team.

There had been talk of a “reboot” for the award-winning production, which saw Season 3 come to a close when Lasso returned to his native United States from an eventful stint working in England as a managerial rookie at AFC Richmond.
WHAT NICK MOHAMMED SAID
Mohammed helped to keep the return rumours ticking over with his antics on social media, and he has echoed what Sudeikis said when it comes to a long-awaited new series. He has told the : “I know what has come out in the press. But I think it’s fine to say that I did know that before, so I know that it’s about Ted coming back and coaching the women’s football team.”
He went on to say when asked if Lasso will be heading back to familiar surroundings, but in a slightly different role: “At Richmond. That’s definitely come out.”

Mohammed added when asked if his character, kit-man-turned-coach Shelley, has more stories to tell: “That’s not been announced. If I knew that for definite, I would not be here.”
He did go on to reveal that a number of fresh faces are set to be welcomed into the Ted Lasso family, with contract options already being taken up when it comes to leading lights from series 1-3. Mohammed said: “There’s obviously going to be a whole host of new characters in it. So, we will see.”
